Department of Staphylococcal and Food-Borne Bacterial Infections
The activities of the Department with three NRLs focus primarily on the diagnosis of food-borne bacterial infections (including the detection of staphylococcal infections).

The activities of the Department cover few major areas: a) identification of bacterial agents and detection of toxins, b) molecular typing of selected isolates
The Department is accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute. Within the Microbiology Laboratory Proficiency Testing Program, the Department of Bacterial Resistance and Food-Borne Bacterial Infections is responsible for the EQAS – Bacteriological diagnosis. This Program is accredited by the Czech Accreditation Institute within the NIPH Proficiency Testing Expert Group (No. 7001).
